01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
On the second floor of a building near Mizue Station, Restaurant リモーネ is a tucked-away spot for Italian cooking prepared with care, plate by plate. The calm dining room invites you to take your time, whether stopping in for lunch or settling in for a course-style dinner.
A generous mix of meat, seafood and vegetables
A platter of assorted antipasti makes a tempting start to the meal. The cold starters alone show plenty of care: Limone-style country terrine made with Mikawa mirin aged for a year, horse mackerel marinated with a bright note of lemon, and smoked items with concentrated flavour. With meat, seafood and vegetables in a balanced mix, the platter also makes a pleasing first course alongside wine.
Pasta shapes chosen to suit the sauce
One of the restaurant’s strengths is its range of short and long pastas, chosen to match the character of each sauce. The lineup includes linguine coated in the savoury richness of house-made bacon and mushrooms, tomato cream sauce with the deep flavour of crab, and rigatoni with a white chicken ragù. There is plenty to choose from on each visit. Each sauce draws out the character of its ingredients and clings to the pasta, making for a satisfying plate.
Dessert and coffee to round out the meal
Desserts bring the meal to a considered close, with a selection that feels just as carefully put together. Options include French toast with honey-lemon sauce, a nod to the restaurant’s name, panna cotta with mango sauce and a bittersweet caramel pudding. Freshly brewed coffee or tea makes a fitting companion for the last bite.
